Mustang Owner about to buy a GP - 01/23/08 07:43 PM

I currently own a 2003 Mustang GT with a couple mods but I have decided to get rid of my baby and go on to a more logical route with a new GP. I am stuck on the amazingly awesome orange color and have found an '05 wiht not a lot of miles for pretty cheap.

anyways, I just recently bought some black 18x9 and 18x10 fr500's for the stang and im pretty sure i don't want to put them on it before i sell it. just kinda curious to see if they would fit on an 04+ Grand Prix GT2? i highly doubt they would but figured i would ask. 18x9 FR500 18x10 FR500
theres the links to them

also, what sites do all you gp owners use to get your aftermarket/oem parts for your cars?

Yep, unfortunately, those rims won't fit. If you'd had a current model Mustang, you would have been fine. That sucks, those are nice rims.

As for GP parts vendors, here\'s a list of links . You should try posting in the 1997-2003 part of the forum. I know it'll be the 'wrong' forum for a 2004+, but that's where all the action is. This part of the forum is a little dead, and you won't get answers as fast here.

why do they fit, cuz the offset isn't as much or what?

Re: Mustang Owner about to buy a GP - 02/04/08 11:39 PM

because they usually have an offset between 36-45

Yep. The offset for the older rims is typically +30mm (believe its +24ish for the stock rims) or below, where the GP needs rims between 35-45ish mm. Fortunately, the newer Mustangs have that offset.

If I remember correctly, the new Mustangs have 45mm offset.

The bolt pattern is fine. GPs have a 5x115 pattern, and the 5x114.3 on Mustangs works fine, it's just the offset that ruins it.

i know a friend that owns an 03 mustang gt switch from gm to ford. keeps tellin to switch over to the real power whatever im stickin with gm come on i have an 83 caprice classic/00 Grand Prix GT the only reason ford is so popular is mainly bcuz of the stang. GM has more then one popular car not counting the vette that puts my car to shame but i can at least afford my GP instead of going to high. My question to you Nebraska03GT other then the color of the GP why are you switch over to GM? Just wonderin is all
