You can go all the way to a 255 on 17's with no problems. Although the all for looks GT I have will be footed with 20x8.5 wearing 245-30 tires from pirelli. And if spring rolls around and I decided to keep the less than efficient at taking off decently quick GP GT it will get the Inferno Air damn and CF spoiler. However with the car and house fighting for my wallet I am honestly very split on what will happen but 20's are fo sure because they can come off easily when I decide to get rid of it. More than what you asked for but I do that from time to time.
Hey man, I can give you a run for the money on the somewhat verbose messages, heh heh. Yeah, I'm aware of the sacrifice in handling when you exceed the width of the rim too much, especially with the stiffer spring rates and harder bushings. I think these wheels look like they could definitely take a 235 without much compromise on handling - 245 is probably too much for sure. Since I'm not planning on lowering this ride or doing any running on race courses, I thought that the improved looks of a slightly wider tire was a good idea. I used to have 285's on all 4 Cobra R rims (17x9) and really like that fat squatty look and it handled great (for a solid axle rear). I guess I won't do this until the stock treads wear out and I've heard a few testimonials that 235's handle well on these cars.
