Trade-in my GP to a Comp-G GP?

I current have a '01 GP GTP and i'm looking the Comp-G

you think is a good idea trade my GP for the Competition-G ?

Money wise, probably not. I was looking at trading my 02GT in when the 04's came out. But, the value had fallen so fast on my '02, that it just would've been financially stupid to do so. But, I did take a CompG home for a day and did like it, but felt it wasn't worth losing another few thousand dollars just to get something a little newer. Keep in mind, this was all WITH the current 3-4,000 dollar rebate, my supplier discount, plus a GM loyalty discount. Just couldn't make it come out.

But, what I'm saying is that why lose even more money than you have to for something that is marginally better. Keep in mind all of the problems that the 04's have developed already too. And remember, don't get suckered in by the rebate thing. You could still lose out, rebate or not.

If you do DONT trade your GTP in. You will get killed on trade in. Sell it outright if nothing else.

I agree with Adam, its a nice car, especially the interior but IMO its not $1,000s of dollars better.

If it were a bonneville GXP or a GTO and you were a few grand off, Id say hell yeah. but not an 04 GTP. see what happens for 05. If you dont like the new ones, at least by then the 04s will have depreciated down where it might be a better situation.

Exactly. Maybe if the GTP CompG was a Grand Prix with a V8, six speed, then it may be worth it. But really, the cars aren't as different as most think. And yes, you'll get a couple thousand more for yours if you can afford to be patient and sell it outright.
