Single tail pipe '04+ GPs? - 03/04/05 03:17 PM

Going to work today I saw a dark blue coming up behind me and as it passed I noticed it only had one basic, bland single tail pipe. This did not look good on the car. Honestly I didn't think they came with single tail pipes in the newer generation? Thought all the trim levels had the dual exhaust now? Is this new for '05 models, or anyone know?

In 2004 they made a grand prix with a 3.1L engine. I think it's been discontinued in 05. This 3.1L had a single exhaust pipe.

Whoa Whoa Whoa!

Sorry to jump on you; I have NO IDEA where you got this info, but it's completely wrong. In 2004 the GT1 and the GT2 had a 3.8 N/A engine, and the GTP had a 3.8 S/C engine. All had dual exhaust.

In 2005 the Sedan (no letter designation) and the GT have the 3.8 N/A and the GTP has the 3.8 S/C. The 2005 Sedan is the one that has the single exhaust.

Actually, for a single exhaust I think it looks pretty good, much better than the vacuum cleaners on the other models.

OK OK OK OK OK!!!!

In 2004 the made 3 levels of GPs -- all had "dual" exhaust -- EVEN THE GT1!!!!

Now in 2005 they made a Rental Version -- it has a single exhaust.

Okay, so it's a rental version, that makes sense.
