Snow Tires - 09/19/03 04:39 PM

Okay, I had a 97 GTP until I got the 2004 GTP, I did not have snow tires for it but sometimes it was scary on the snow. Of course it had no traction control or stabilization control like the new one does, but I am just wondering if snow tires would be a good investment or just a waste of money.
Just wondering if anyone else that lives in a snow region is considering them for the 2004 GTP.
I would have to look at a wheel and tire package and the tires would have to be Michelins if I decided on it.
Any ideas?

I had Michelins on my truck. They were the the most expensive ones they made. I was told they were the best. I hated them. My wife's Grand Am has BF Goodrich Touring T/A VR4. Make sure they are the VR4's. They are the the best tires I've ever used, dry, wet, and snow. We got 110 inches last winter and that car made it to work 35 miles each way without ever sliding or getting stuck. We drove 135 miles through a white out snow storm on Christmas that dumped two feet without any problems. I will be buying a set for the GTP if they have the size I want (when the stock ones wear out).

I'm gonna have to concur with the VR-4's. I had them on my 3000GT and never once had a problem in the crazy New England weather
