supercharger whine

I got my 04 GTP last march. The supercharger had a whine...fine. fiancee said their suppose to. recently took to dealer for 30,000 maintenance (had fluid level of SC ck'd). They said level was fine, but now my SC doesn't whine. Did they do something/ adjustments??

Whine could have been a result of a lower than normal SC fluid level so that could explain why it disappeared.

The only time a SC should whine is under load (ie when your hammer is down on it) if its just at idle it shouldn't be that noticeable at all.

The other possibility is also an old SC belt - if they replaced that a new belt might have lessened the noise as well.

Bottom line - as long as your happy it's cool.

There is nothing like good ole supercharger whine!
Just like in my old (well not that old - late 70's) drag racing days of listening to a 6-71 wind up!!

i had a similar whine to my 04 gtp...but it took it in and they said the power steering fluid was low and filled it. after that..no more wine. never heard a whine from the supercharger until i added a KN airtake, but its normal because it sucks more air.

They also capped off my power steering. The whine was present prior to my K&N filter being installed. Perhaps it was the ps.
