GO FIGURE!!! Those !%#$%@ at Swanson Pontiac would not even give me GMS a few months ago! Now look Big Rebates!
GM must have too many of them! Serves them right!
I know the last time I rode past Swanson Pontiac/GMC they had 8 on the lot. Greed never pays off.

Ok I am done ranting smile

Re: GTO REBATES! - 08/18/04 04:11 PM

I think the LS1 site said they have sold almost 9,000 of the expected 16-18,000 cars. Not sure on that.

I think that since the news leaked about the 05, no one wants an 04 now. However Ive been told by a few that the stuff about the LS2 is bogus. I honestly cant see them putting in 400hp along with the Vette. Maybe 375hp ls2 but who knows. Im rootin for it.

yeah swanson has a ton, Bel Air Pontiac has 3 and they have been around a while. I noticed when I was in there they still had ADM for the GTO

Yer right Jizz, greed never pays. They could have sold them ALL if they would have given em up for $500-$1,000 under MSRP. and they STILL would have made money

go to www.pontiac.com
click on gto
go over to "shop and buy tools"
click on "current offfers"
click on your area of the country
scroll to GTO, they show $2k + special financing IF you use GMAC for every part of the country I think

It might end up being a detuned LS2 version.

Looks like 400HP

Incentives are rolling on the 2004's if you finance with GMAC, but I expect the offers to get even better during the next incentive period.

And Swanson still has 7 on the lot... going back to my original post..."greed never pays"

Maybe they learned their lesson and will make the 05 more appealing for everyone.

Let's hope.

Just talked to a guy who came back from a Chevy 05 intro in VA. said the SSR roadster had the LS-2 w/about 380 hp. now THAT rocks

Hope the GTO travels the same path.

In that case the SSR "may" be worth the $50K+ they are asking for them.

Yeah FINALLY! Again, just liek the GTO, what they SHOULD have done to begin with, to preven the car from being a FLOP

Hey Jizz, Bel Air Pontiac now has 4 GTOs, 2 black, 1 blue 1 Red. I think they are trying to catch Swanson.... wink

Oh also saw in hot rod magazine that Holden is showing a LEFT HAND DRIVE Convertible Monaro, speculation is its going to come here as a GTO ragtop. who knows.

Yep Why2.. GM sent me a email (GM not My dealer) said they would give me GMS, plus 1.9 for 60 and 3500 on the GTO....maybe if they where not so cocky in March I would say ok but Honestly I gotta say FU greedy people.

To think it was not even an original design -- God I hope they are working on a USA release of the 2006-7 TA PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE

I think GM intended on makeing their own US built GTO all along, maybe right after they killed the F-body. but IMO the time it takes to get a new model through the EPA/govt regulation nightmare probably pushed the date to 2007 regardless of what they did.
SO they contracted with holden to bring the monaro here as the GTO as an interim step, just to get something out there. This holden/GTO thing is supposed to end in 06 or 07. I think it was a 3 year agreement so prob 06. So I dont think you will see a US car until 07 at the earliest.

I guess the question to ask is would you rather have a comfy 6 speed LS1 and LS2 car available even with tepid styling or nothing at all. even it if is boring on the outside Im glad its here. Gives me something to buy used in a few years when my GTP wears out

Re: GTO REBATES! - 09/12/04 12:08 PM

Hey Jizz, I mentioned in in another thread but people are popping up on the ls1gto board reporting buying leftover 04s for about $26,000 dont know how true of course but even if you are pissed at the dealers. getting an 04 without them making much money si a good way to strike back! Sounds possible considering the $3500 rebate, I think invoice on a gto is around $26000+

Id much rather an 05 but jeez, thats a lot of car for the money. Its where the price SHOULD have been in the first place. theyd have sold 10x what they wanted to .
