Thanks for the sympathy guys...I guess it just really makes me kinda sick when I see the Honda dealerships selling those homely looking Ridgeline trucks and those gawd awful Element whatever-they-are, while the domestic automakers are stuck in old ruts. They look at vehicles like these and concepts like my chops and see a niche market.
I fully believe there are designers way more creative and talented than I am...but their ideas get shot full of holes by the bean counters as "not cost effective"...every once in a great while they manage to slip one by.
Ford has been selling the niche market SportTrac for quite a few years, but GM would blow that off by saying "we have a crew cab Colorado...let'em buy that" Totally ignoring the fact that not everyone thinks the Colorado is their kind or soup...or if a niche vehicle does hit the showroom (i.e. Chevy SSR) the price is shot to all hell so most of us will never be able to afford it (the guys with plenty of money already have enough cars!)...any big wonder the ricer giants are kicking our butts?...
Anyways, the Aztek will be in a museum someday and if gas goes back up (think it will?...uhh yeah) maybe car-trucks like the old ElCamino will make a comeback...til then I wish I had the money to build them myself.
