Will you walk away? - 01/08/09 10:59 PM

After long day at work during night shift. I don't feel like to make dinner so I went to fast food. There are too many cars at drive thru but I went inside this place because I like to save my gas. wink I'm only one person in this building. It was like 20 minutes left to closed dining room hour. Anyway, I gave her a paper for what I want. She type it on this computer then other order came up from drive thru. She went over there to do her business but I haven't give her money yet. After my foods are already in bag. She says thank you and have a good night (walk away). I just like huh? I haven't pay food yet. She just like huh what problem? I show her "cash". She like oh s(crap) I forgot.

Will you walk away if it is free food that she forgot about that? I wish I can but I can't see myself walk away. I understand her mistake but I rather pay what I ordered. So what about you if it is happen to you?

Having worked in fast food in high school, I would have paid. That would suck to have to pay that at the end of the night.

I do not know if they caught her that I'm not paying this food if I walk away for take her money out of paycheck. That's better that I paid for it. She seems nice lady. I'm pretty sure it was honest mistake. She have lot of stuffs to deal with drive thru. It was like 10 cars waiting on line.

rebel :p

my friend had a similar situation. His debit card was so old and crunched up the McDonalds swiper wouldn't read it , though he had just deposited a cheque excessively exceeding the amount of $ for the purchase. Long story short, he got a free meal.

Been there done that. I paid. Also had a cashier at a grocery store give me change for 100 when all I used was a 20. Gave that back too.

I have been like "well aren't you cute girl thanks for lunch!" and then paid. But Karma has chewed me up and spit me out when I haven't done anything wrong and stuff so ya now I would of walked. Ive worked retail I know how it works.

To be truthfully honest (all circumstances are different), but I would've probably walked. I worked in retail so I do understand about the short change in the drawer and I have had to take money out of paycheck to pay for the loss.
