Does anybody know if the new '07 GXP will run on E85?
My wife and I are going to get one in Dec. or Jan. and I was thinking that it would be a plus if the 5.3L could run on E85. I know that the other 5.3L in the trucks can, just wanted to know if anyone has a clue if the GP will be able to.

Tks. guys. smile

Kansas,

It doesn't look like it's an option. Here's a link to a GM webpage showing all of the vehicles that can use E85... http://www.gm.com/company/onlygm/energy_flexfuel.html#

I don't think so...but maybe you can make it run on E85. If it's the same engine as in the trucks, then it wouldn't make sense for them to change it just for the GXP, which wouldn't would yeild enough sells to make it cost effective I wouldn't think.

You'll need different fuel lines, injectors, computer programming etc.

Well the engine isn't the same as in the trucks. It is the same displacement as the truck engines. The GXP has a bigger bore, and shorter stroke, so the oil pan doesn't drag the ground... Oh well, that wasn't a deciding factor in the car anyway. smile
Thanks for the input fellas.
