hot looking ride too judging from the artists renditions...still bummed there is no return for the Firebird.

There is going to be a Pontiac counterpart though... Just called a GTO.

convertible? I would rather them bring out the T-tops. I really haven't seen anything on the new car yet. Cool they are bringing it back though.

and to take on the new GT500 shelby stang
7.0L LS7 500+ hp straight from the ZO6

I have heard rumors of a LS3.

I wonder how the newer GTO will look like.

Hopefully something modern and not retro.

I saw a pic a while ago. But My guess is it will look just like the Camaro except a different front and rear clip. And rims.

GM rumors were originally the Pontiac version was going to be a four door. No stable mate to compete directly with the Camaro.

I can believe that.

It will be interesting to see what they bring to the auto shows next year. The Solstice made several appearances, each time a little closer to production status...maybe a convertible concept will show in 07 and maybe they willhave decided on the prospect of the Pontiac stablemate (if any)...I've seen a few artists renditions of what the next GTO would look like and it does look like it may share the same platform...but for the 32 years I've had a drivers license, the Firebird has always been a hearthrob for me...even when they were building both cars, I never had the hots for a GTO. I know it has long been given credit for being the "first musclecar" but I can count all the people on one hand that I've ever talked to that had a real passionate desire to own a GTO. I'm not knocking the car for sure, but I dont think it ever had the following of the Firebird...I've even read one or two rumors that suggest the return of the Bird in the 09 model year for the 40th anniversary...that would be the "rise of the phoenix"

I would love to see a firebird or a T/A. Rather than a GTO. I've always had a real soft spot for the LS1 T/A WS6
