Re: GPS - 07/04/07 01:13 PM

Thats not a bad price at all. Does it have an internal memory holding all the maps and such or do you use CDs and a computer to load regions on it?

Re: GPS - 07/04/07 03:50 PM

we have a toys-r-us local here and I just came back...I was informed that internet sales do not apply to in-store sales. The company claims they have been having trouble competing with "big box" stores. It would seem to me that if you want to increase foot traffic in your stores, not honoring internet sale prices isnt the way to do it...did they think I would come in and pay full price anyway? lol no

Yep, there's a Toys-R-Us about 10 minutes from home; it goes for $249, with TomTom selling at $299. Given that, I'd be happy to get one at $99... wink

If circuit city or best buy carries that model GPS they'll beat it by 10%.

All 48 states are preloaded. Internal battery is good for roughly 3 hours and it comes with both a 110 charger and car charger. It's all touch screen controlled. Played with it yesterday and it's a nice wink

Preloaded down to street-detail maps?
My handheld only has highways, routes, and main roads. I don't wanna buy the expensive software for loading in the detailed ones.

Yes down to street detail. And when I put in my address it actually was in the proper spot on the street.

Mapquest places my house about .2 miles away.

Plus it has an SD slot and a USB port so you can download your routes and save them.

Sweet find!
I've been tossing around the idea of getting one for a couple of years now.
