rustang kill - 06/22/10 11:37 PM

so i did my oil change after about 8k miles, put fully synthetic penzoil, but anyway cruizin around and i turn onto a four lane road(two each side) well this rustang gt id say 93-96 i believe with the 4.6. young kid drivin it. but we play around its a 50 zone when we started playin aroun not gettin higher than 65 but turned onto a street and slow down at a stoplight and it turns green and i hear him hit it tires spin alil and i gun it. i knew he was goin to do this so i dropped it down into 1st gear and rompted it and took about a half a car length on him and kept it and slowly pull until about 65-70 from a 5-10 dig so i felt kinda good that i took the 4.6

Sorry but I gotta call bull on this one. No way your N/A 3.8L V6 took on any kind of V8. That car clearly had the 4.0L V6, which is an absolute dog of an engine by the way, not the 4.6L V8.

Crap, my bad. The older ones also had a 3.8 right?

Correct. The only V6 avail. in that year range was the 3.8L, which was only 150hp.

The 3.8L got 190hp in 99+. The 5.0 had 225hp in 93, then dropped to 215 for 94/95 (these were quite slow stock). The 96 got the 4.6L

So, if it were truly a 5.0L GT, then it may be possible that you took him. Good kill. I know quite a few Rustang guys that get this holier than thou attitude bacause they have a 'stang, and I drive the GPGT or Vic. Little do they know that stock for stock my Vic will not only give them a run for the money, it may actually take em. And if all else fails, I can shove em in the trunk and still have room for a cooler laugh

If you "know your cars" then why did you group a 93 with a 94-96?
1987-1993 Mustangs look like this:

1994-2004 Mustangs look like this:

OK. OK. 1994-2004 was the 4th generation Mustang. The major shape of the car did not change, but in 99 there were some slight body line changes that most would not notice, especially when driving down the road. Also the 5.0 was available in 94 & 95. My intentions of the pictures I randomly grabbed from the net was just to show how different a 93 was from a 94 and a guy who "knows cars" should have known that.

The only way he could have stayed near the stang is if it was a tired 2.73 geared automatic car. They ran 16.0 1/4 mile times.
