JUST GOT A GXP

HI EVERYBODY! I JUST PURCHASED A 2005 GXP AND I'VE BEEN SEARCHING FOR SOME INFO ON IT.SO I LANDED ON THIS SITE. I JUST ENTERED IT INTO A CAR SHOW AND IT RECEIVED A LOT OF CONFUSED LOOKS. MOST PEOPLE AREN'T TOO IMPRESSED UNTIL THEY HEAR IT START.

I've had most people I know state they like the GXP style more then my old 97 GTP, I myself can't decide. I like them both.

I took mine to the local meeting place for the youngsters right after I got it Saturday and the one kid there with a 98 GT really liked the sound of the V8.

Is the only difference between the 05 and 06 GXP the location of the OnStar antennae?

I HAVEN'T SEEN AN 06 MODEL YET. THERE WEREN'T TOO MANY 05 MODELS WHEN I WAS LOOKING. WHERE ARE SOME GOOD PLACES TO GET AFTERMARKET PARTS FOR THESE CARS?

There seems to be no aftermarket parts available as yet. The only thing I really want is a drop in K&N filter anyway.

I wish I could have got an 05, with the discounts it would have saved me a few thousand I'm sure.

There were no incentives on mine, only 3.9% financing.

have 2000 miles on 06 gxp just love it. went drag racing this past weekend and it was fabulous!!! started the day running 14.8 and the final run where I lost by only 4- 1000 of a second. but had the best run of the day getting a 14.3!!! this is the best car I have owned.

GXP's are running between 13.8 and 14.3 at the track.

I'm thinking an after market catback is in my future. That would change peoples view of the car even more and add a few extra HP.
