G8 Sport Truck now has a name...

Its being called the G8 ST.

Personally, I'm glad its not being called the El Camino. For some reason, I really want one of these.

It has had that name since thy released the G8. I really love the look of it, but dont want one. Id rather take the G8 GT over that any day.

Actually, that was the placeholder name. They also called it sport ute. They had a contest to see which name to use.

Dunno. I'd like to test drive it and see. If I see one on the road, that would convince me. Its different as I don't see many on the road. Heck, I've only seen 1 regular G8 on the road.

Personally, I don't like the way it looks. The G8 looks good, but not with a bed in the back.

But, that's just my opinion. To each his own.

In Australia, it's been known as the Ute for the past 18 years or so.

I still think its sharp looking ride...might have one someday.

Yea, I forgot about that. The 2010 ST is basically a VE Ute. I'll look at some Austrailian forums regarding the 2nd Gen and see what kicks back.

It's projected to be brought over for a 2010 release as a Pontiac G8 ST.

still a boring name any way you slice it...I was reading today that we'll probably get a V6 version as well.

I don't like the name as well, its just too plain. They should of called it the G8 spear, that was the entry I made.

i hope that we get some of the other cool holden cars over here. ours are so boring.

From a division that calls their cars G8, G6, G5, the name "ST" comes as no surprise

I'm actually surprised it isn't G8 T.

I was surprised to find that there are already used G8s on autotrader.com...quite few GTs and some nicely equipped V6 models as well. I dont know how soon the ST will get here in numbers big enough to make it widely available but I'm looking forward to checking one out up close. Hopefully they will have one at NYC this spring that you can actually sit in instead of on a pedestal. The one they had there lest year looked nice but you cant tell much about interior room from looking thru windows.

I still think "Apache" would have been a good name since it goes with the Pontiac Indian heritage and GM probably still hold the rights since it was used on trucks years ago.

Hmm. Apache. Never though of that one. I think it fits the truck perfectly! Oh well.
