I read through the thread. Allowencer gave pretty good responses.

I'm kinda naiive on the subject of tuners but I assume this means the only other option now is HP tuners (when all the PTs are gone). A majority stated it is better anyway. Am I correct on this?

Not really better. The HPtuner has some tables that the PTuner doesn't and there is a customer serive for HPT.

Im nervous. HPT has a monopoly on the 3800 tuners now. Im ready for the prices to skyrocket.

Hopefully the cost of the powertuner will drop, making it more readily available to people like myself

same here ... ineed to get a hpt or a powertuner but everyone says hpt has better service. and that dhp has no service for the powertuner the only thing i dont like about the hpt is the credit things thats kind of confusing. but yes i can see the price skyrocketing for the hpt ... so i better try to buy one while i can

PTs will still be useable just the same. Mine works completely, so I have no aspirations to get rid of it (unless I buy a WS6 or GTO and supercharge it and demod the GP).

Same here. Actually works better than it did in XP but I think it was a newer release.

I never got mine to work after hours of troubleshooting and PFYC and DHP were absolutely worthless for support. I returned mine a month after I got it.

$500 and you can only tune a few cars. My PT was $400 and I can tune almost any '97-03ish 3800 car.

Personally, if DHP refuses to continue support, I have no qualms tuning other people's cars.
