Well, I plan on putting this cam in within the next few weeks..just need to buy a gasket set and find the fuel line tools and harmonic balancer removal tool....then I shouldn't be getting any KR hopefully, but I don't think that's my problem...I know it lies with the traction...c'mon, 2.4 60' times...I peel out until 35, sometimes 40 mph

well, I had a run tonight and got great traction on one of the runs and:
R/T .568
60' 2.202
330' 5.979
1/8 9.093
mph 79.85

I also had 2 runs at 9.12, so I feel like I gained experience, but I don't think I will be under 9's until I get better suspension...Well, unless I get that cam in...then I should be near 8.75. You agree?

My best 60' so far is a 2.176. That is on stock tires. I think you need more practice to get that time down. Just do what I did and go out and pick on some rice or rustangs.

Looking good , what is your goal? your setup isn't ideal you need header's at this point more than the cam at least ported ex.mnfld's isn't your knock ratio through the roof with 3.25 pulley?but your definatly a quick study 2nd time at the track and showing that much improvment.

I've already bought the cam a couple months ago...so it will be better for it WITH the cam then without anything...I will have about $2500 in a month and a half to spend on my car, and hopefully someone can help me get the best upgrades for the money...Headers for sure and throttle body spacer...

Put a 3.4 SC pulley on there and I bet you will improve your times. That 3.25 is giving you hella KR I will bet my GTP on it! A guy in our local club has something close to your current setup and put on a 3.25 and had it scanned. He is getting about 12*+KR. I bet with your current setup and a 3.4 you are still going to get very mild KR maybe around 2-5* With my setup, I still get .05-1.0*KR and on hot days it can even get up to 5* KR around 60mph at WOT. KR is a horse power killer!

I would increase your rear tire pressure to 44 psi and your fronts to 30 psi. Do one 4-5 second burnout. Do not drive through the water. After stagging(sp?), press down on the breaks with your left foot and bring the rpm's up to 3k. At the green let off the break quickly and give it more throttle but do not floor it until about 1.5 seconds into the run, then give it all you got.

Not that i doubt your times but i don't think track times should be posted without time slips ,anyone can claim great times you need to back them up with proof.

Hey, how do you post a picture? I took a pic of my timeslip....you can go to my website to see it (www.cardomain.com/id/gdgtp) or http://images.cardomain.com/member_images/4/web/412000-412999/412665_15_full.jpg for the pic. If you STILL think I'm the one on the left or something, then I'll show all 40 of my other timeslips with matching Trap Speeds (78s 79s)

I was told the last time I went to the track (and that has been years ago) never to burnout street tires because the treads would hold water that would make you spin at the launch...a set of slicks will make a world of difference in traction...in conjuction with some of the other mods mentioned should make your ride a real rocket...and in this day of rice-racers its cool to see some modern US iron kickin butt!

Yeah Thunderbat...I heard something like that too, but it wasn't until I was doing the correct way to do a burn-out when I was getting faster times and better traction...the 8.85 run, my tires barely screeched at all...it felt so good...I appreciate the compliment and motivation to make my GP better...at least SOMEONE can say something other than dis-belief, etc....I should be installing my camshaft before July and headers soon after...July 3, there is an Ultimate shoot-out drag race at the MidAmerica Motorplex...you can win $300 for each class...

I have been told that you are not suppose to burn the street tires. Also heard to drive around the water box and do 3 very short burnouts to help clean the tire.
