You can't change timing or fuel trims by the list of options, so why bother? You'd be better off with a PowrTuner (same price) or PCM by one of our suppliers.

Hey Guys...I have read someplace on the Net that the 2000 S/C Monte Carlo, Buick(Regal) & Grand Prix, are basically the same car? They share a lot of the same parts.
And Rook is is Absolutely, Right! A PCM from ZZZPerformance should do the Job quite well without all the hassle, & it's even Cheaper, about $100.00 Check it Out!

Hardware wise, they're the same. Electronically they're all different beast.

I have the Power Tuner for my wife's 04 Monte Carlo ss. I bought it before after market PCMs were readily available. I like the fact I can firm up the shift from stock to 25,50,75 or 100% of what they feel is safe. 75% felt the best. It got rid of the speed limiter and I can adjust my rev limiter and shift points. I like to bring my rev limiter down to 5000 when I take it in for service work just in case they decide to "test drive" it. It also has a 87/93 octane option., so you can switch back and forth for everyday driving or drag racing.
That being said, the ZZP PCM has a great feature in it's extended cooling fan run time if coolant is over 185 when key is shut off, as well as lower temp fan turn on. It is only programmed for premium fuel. It is also about $200 cheaper.

It is a hypertech Power Programmer III model 30030. It is for 01-05 Monte Carlo, Regal or Impala. I am about to put it on EBAY and get a ZZP PCM, I think. I like the extended cooling fan run time the ZZP PCM has built in, but don't want to run premium. I think with a 180 Tstat and a DP, I could be OK with 89. I may lose a little power, but that is not what this car is about. It is momma's daily driver, kid taxi and vacation car. http://www.hypertech.com/product_searchpart.html?phpID=vehicleTable&part=30030

Makes more sense. Pow(e)rTuner is a name brand for DHP's reprogramming software/hardware. It's a lot more involved then the stuff you were discussing and I thought for sure you had something different.
