To take off the residue, you can use Goo Gone and a little elbow grease. If you want to get another badge, you can look around Ebay or the classified section of clubgp. You can also debadge the car. It gives a nice clean look if you're into that.

I'd do the entire de-badging. It looks so clean. Still have to do it myself. Someday when I have the time.

Personally I prefer going with a little custom job of some kind.

As for getting the gooey goo off, yes Goo Gone works, but to get the big part of the gooey goo, use an old credit card or hotel card key or a plastic scrapper, or something of that nature. Don't use a blade if at all possible.

if you have an autobody repair supply shop around, they carry plastic razor blades for that kind of job. they are about 4-5 dollars and they tend to do pretty good used with goo-gone.

nail polish remover works really well for any leftover residue, but be VERY carful not to use too much.

The same exact thing happened to me, so I decided to debadge the entire car (looks really nice and clean on a white car!) to get it off I heated it up a little and rubbed it till MOST fell off, for the rest of the residue I rubbed at it with some WD-40 then cleaned it all off and waxed the area.

if you do want to de-badge, how would you go about removing the emblems if they are still held on tight?

Dental floss or fishing line.

i second what austin said. use a thin, high tensile strength line.
