It doesn't look like K&N makes one for a '00 GP 3100... would the 3800 version work the same? I think that area of the bay is about the same, right? Correct me if I'm wrong.

There should definitely be enough space, smaller engine, but not sure if the tubing is the same size as the mass air flow/throttle body inlet

I know that palsut does not have a K&N intake on his car, I think he might have an open cone though I don't remember. I don't think the kit for the 3800 would fit on the 3.1 anyways. Like already mentioned they're completely different engines with different throttle bodies etc.

I'm not saying there's no way it would fit but if it does it won't fit like it does in the bay of a 3800.

i have a 99 gp se (luckly with the 3.8)and the FIPK setup that K&N sells works and looks the same as a gt but there are alot of gaps and its not truly a cold air intake with all the gaps they leave. if you want a true cold air setup go to zzperformance.com and look at the wizard air setup i switched and im glad i did K&Ns kit is a waste of money. if you want performance reviews go to easyperformance.com and look at the charts

Yeah, I know I could make one... I just don't have the time. I figured I could slap in a kit someone else made some Saturday afternoon... that's about the only free time I have these days.

With the CAI, I was planning on doing something with my exhaust... does anyone know what I could do to my exhaust to get any gains? I know my 3100 isn't up many of your alleys... so any help you guys can offer is appreciated.

Regarding your exhaust, Performance Peddler has a Magnaflow bolt-in downpipe for the 3.1: MAG 23469 Here's another place to check out for performance parts: http://www.milzymotorsports.com/

than a 3" coupler..... its soooo worth it, i thought the same thing " i dont have time "

until these guys proved me wrong.

This is what you do, go out side quick and take off the intake tubing. then measure the throttle body opening with a ruler lol its ghetto but thats how you can know right now. otherwise wait till palsut gets up and chimes in lolol

EDIT: its either a 52 or 56mm throttle body, im still lookin for ya

best way to find out is ask zzp they let you know in 24 hours on ur questions do you have a seperate MAF sensor? the LS1 N* kit is what id use but i dont know if itll fit they would though
backyard custom will always work though. straighter ducts flow better though.
