Hi, I have a '01 grand prix gt sedan which I am busy fixing. When I first got it, it was a beautiful smooth ride. Lately after 3 years of driving, it seems very rough especially on grid roads. I've changed the struts, strut mounts, new springs (Sensetrack from canadian tire), control arm bushings, steering linkage bushings, outer tire rods, wheel hub assembly, and new tires. Much to my frustration, it still rides like shit. Does anyone have any idea what I may be missing? I am also planning to changing from 16" to 18" wheels for looks. I realize this might set me back in terms of smoothness. Someone also suggested that I may want to change struts to a KYB brand. Any opinions appreciated.

Welcome to the board.

I'm thinking you got so use to the worn out struts that new ones don't make the car "float" like you want it to.

I LOVE my current set up. Smooth enough that the kids normally pass out soon after getting in the car, stiff enough that my car doesnt float at all. It feels like a soft-riding cruise missile.

My struts are quick strut replacements from Sentsetrack. They are distributed from Canadian Tire retail store in Canada. They come with the strut mounts, struts and coil springs. My question, "Would changing these parts improve my handling if I went to a NAPA strut such as a KYB?" What other kinds of struts will make my car float better? Ideas please. Thanks

I believe sensatrack is the same as Gabriel/Monroe/NAPA quickstruts. These are supposed to be cushier than KYBs. They also have a lifetime warranty, maybe you got a bad strut?
