who has them? i would like to get them but i am skepticle becuase they are modified factory rockers, ive been looking at the slp 1.8, they dont require springs, but if the 1.9 rockers are good ill get them because i have the springs needed sitting in my garage, ordonez1307 already told me they where good and he likes them, who else does and is it worth it?

what kind of gains noticed and is there a sound difference under the hood, meaning does it give a meaner sound? i want to get these things on the 15 of nov. but i want a little more input from those who have them.

There won't be much sound difference when putting on rockers. Peformance increases are nice, but depend a lot on what you already have on the car.

They generally are real nice for a lot of top end gain and with some tuning you might be able to drop a pulley size.

It's been too long since I've not had rockers to really be able to give you a butt dyno feel for them, but without going to a cam, rockers are a good bang for the buck.

Also, I've looked into the specs on things and found out that the 1.9 rockers are about equivelant to ZZP's VS cam only less duration and overlap.

to be honest, the butt dyno with them wasnt impressive, but that can be expected in the top end stuff. But the scans were completely different before and after. deffinately an improvement

So sites state different. I've read 20-25 at the wheels and/or just 25 hp gain. So I assume it gives you at least 25 hp, and you will notice it on the top end, like over 4500 rpms.

when installing these should i drain all my fluids since i am removing my manifold and i got coolent lines all over.....well...whats the easiest way to do this, as far as i know i got to take the ignition coils off altanator, supercharger, the manifold, fuel rail and obviously the valve covers?

For a rockers install. No. Just the Valve covers, but there are some things that need to be taken off to get at them. Do a search, I just posted on a recent thread about taken off valve covers. Few different threads on those.
But the S/C doesn't have to come off, nor the manifold. But the ignitoin coil packs, alt maybe, might just loosen, and some wiring out of the way.

because when i take the old springs out and put the new ones on...the spring compresser tool is pretty long and i thought the s/c and manifold would be in the way

Not unless you drop a valve in the cylinder. :p

And if you do that, you need to take the head off to get it back out.

UNLESS, you got REALLY REALLY LUCKY and the cylinder happened to be at TDC, at which point, it might not fall too far to catch it.

You want a compressor similar to this one.

Overhead Spring Compressor

And an air compressor with a fitting for the spark plug goes to keep the valve up.

if you don't have an air compressor some cotton rope fed into the sparkplug hole to fill the cylinder (leave enough out to grab)will keep the valves from falling in.

Risky. One guy on ClubGP did that and when they went to remove it, it knotted. They had to pull the head to get it out.

From what I've found you can go to 1-9 rockers with the stock springs if you keep your shift points at 6k ,I've also used HS 1-9's with 6k shift points and no valve float in fact Ron Vogal currently the fastest rockered m-90 car is running 1-9's with stock springs, but since you have the springs already go ahead and change them but it would be prudent to change valve seals at the same time .Chico(pops)

I had issues running HS 1.9's with stock springs. Valve float like no other under certain conditions and it happened way before 6k rpm.

With that in mind I've always recommended upgrading valvesprings just to be safe. Better to do it once than to have to dig in there multiple times. Gets to be a huge pita when you have to pull rockers more than once.

well......im about half way done, the front six where not very difficult, i got the springs and rockers done there then put the valve cover back on, now im clearing a path for the rears and speaking of witch it is a pain in the rear so far, i had to quit because it started to get dark and rain a little bit, so i will continue in the morning, i dont see why i wont have it done then either, ive been taking pictures of progrees and i will post them when the project is complete.

Did you install an aftermarket DownPipe? Have you done the ubend delete yet? Don't see those things listed in your sig mod list.

With the 3.4 on there, you need some serious exhaust work. I understand, we all have priorities. Just don't want you going to a 4th motor you know. BalckArrow just posted a nice d/p on another thread about Ubend.

lol....i was very very carefull when lifting the spring, and if i saw that the valve moved down a little i would pull it back up and rub some oil around it, it seemed to work for me, i think its mainly because i took my time and was very carefull, it took me 8 hours to do.

I was going to ask you the same question. I hope it doesn't take me 8 hours though. Glad it is all working out for you. I am tackling that next week, with some 1.9 Pro Magnum rockers and also a TOG headers install.

the 8 hours was well worth it. i was going to get the 1.9 magnum, but i got the modded 1.9 instead, it was cheaper, and 1.9 is 1.9, so im still thrilled with the gains, it pulss alot harder when the rpms are high, if your going to get the 1.9s dont forget the 105 springs
