my 02 Prix has the heads-up-display and i was wondering if any knew whether or not the heads up would still work with an aftermarket radio. I know that there is the steering wheel interface controls that will allow the controls to work with aftermarket..but what about the HUD?
My guess is that they are part of the steering wheel control harness that includes the radio controls on the wheel. Just a guess. I don't know anything about the wiring, but I do know that speed is now the only thing displayed in my HUD.
Oh, and I still get the low fuel light in the HUD.
do your steering wheel controls still work?? i was wondering about that because i have seen several different kinds of steering wheel interface kits that are "suppose" to make the steering wheel controls work with and aftermarket radio.....
My steering wheel controls do not work because I chose not to purchase the steering wheel kit. There are kits that will keep the steering wheel controls working. You'd have to find someone who has one of those kits to tell you if their HUD is fully functional.

I believe they have a kit for both the HUD and the controls it is called a PAC "something". I know they sell the steering wheel control kit at the GP store. and I am almost postive there is a kit for the HUD. Try talking to the people who make the steering kit. they should know
I got the PAC interface when I put aftermarket in. I was too used to the steering wheel controls to let them go. My HUD still works, but like said above, it just shows speed and the low fuel light now. I don't remember it showing turn signals before, but I know that it does not now. The interface for the SW controls was VERY simple to program. Hope this helps.
From what I have heard the HUD will not work. My question is are the interfaces, steering wheel and on-star, easy to put in by yourself or have it done by the sound shop?
