So it took me 5 hours by myself to get all four struts replaced. However, I still don't like that back being so low. Where can I get replacement stock springs to replace the rears that have some miles on them. I'll I see is the lowering ones. Do I need to get them at a stealership?

Well autozone has them for $104.99. But is there something in aftermarket springs that doesn't lower it, better performance like.
Advance is $69.99 (not sure if per pair or one)

if its a stock replacement spring then the stock ride height should stay the same (or returning your car to stock height) just make sure its a progressive wound spring (tighter coils on one end and wider spaced on the other...just in case you werent up on that) this will preserve your ride quality. constant rate lowering spring make for a kidney killer. you could also try a spring from another application (just check diameter) like maybe another w-body sedan such as the Olds Intrigue, you may get stronger spring. i'm in this dilema myself since I'm planning on doing struts all around and want to get rid of the sagging rear too. Post back and let us know what you find out thumbsup

When I replaced my struts, aftermarket stock springs weren't available. So I called the dealer, gave them the VIN, and it turned out that I had the weakest stock rear springs(4 choices available). I decided to go a step stiffer on the rears. Here are the GM numbers: Frt springs 22133030 $52.83 each, Rears 10258880 $37.55 each. Prices are from http://www.gmpartsdirect.com No more sagging rear! hammer

Sweeet! Just I have to dismantle the rears again, getting in that trunk sucks. Are those numbers for another vehicle. I searched under my make and model and they gave me 10276574. I guess this is just replacement, not the stiffer set you showed. Yah says 2004s for those springs.

Yes, I'm guessing the 10276574's are the stock replacements, since they fit my year GP as well. You could check that # I listed with your local dealer, and see if it fits your GP (it probably will). I was surprised that they showed 4 options; didn't want the car to ride like a jackhammer, just wanted to eliminate the sagging rear... wink Thankfully my buddy at the dealer knows I'm mod-minded when it comes to ride and handling improvements.. hammer

I will check it out, but you are suggesting the #'s you gave me, right?

Yup give the dealer your VIN, and see what optional springs they list for the rears. The 10258880's fit my '98, not sure about other years.

So I called up the dealer, (confused the heck out of me) but I talked to Bill, who has been there for 41 years, and he lost my mind. Gave him VIN. He said only two available. One is 9FY and the other is 9DH. I was like that is it no numbers. And he said yes. First said I had the Y's then he said sorry you have the DH's. I was like wtf. I think I have the DH but the FY are stiffer but shorter spring, so car would ride lower but be stiffer. Said $60.49 ea. But gmpartsdirect gives me #10276574. And if you went with Rears 10258880 $37.55 each, those are 2004's springs. I am lost. I don't want to get something then it won't fit or work.

If you like, I can call my buddy at the dealer tomorrow morning, give him your VIN, and see what he recommends. Pm me if you're interested.
