My second day of washing fire trucks and I dropped the wheels/tires at the shop before I went in for Comm Service. When I left I stopped back by the shop to pick up my newly mounted wheel set. I took one look at those new white letters and said to myself "screw the snow and ice, these suckers are going on the car"
I paid the price since I had to break out my trusty 4-way lug wrench since my impact gun was frozen, but after an hour of freezing cold fingertips and good old fashioned back grunting, the end result was worth it.
Razz on me if you want, YES the car is dirty but with the hose and wash bucket both frozen there wasnt much I could do but get the snow off the car. I think the offset and the fat tire look came off great. These are the same width and overall diameter as my 18s were. Imight not be able to see my calipers anymore but I'm willing to trade that off for this "hi-banks" look....oh yeah, check it out...

I'm lovin it laugh cool thumbsup

I know you don't expect those S-rated tires to corner or handle an emergency situation well, do you? My experience with BFG TAs was not good on my Chevelle, but maybe they will work out for you.
The car looks great, but I will take some handling and braking over looks. Do not tint you tails. Who wants to take away any candle power away from the only thing communicating to the many moronic multi-tasking drivers that you are slowing down, turning,or even stopped. I will I could put 100 watt halogen brake bulbs on my car sometimes.

Well Tbat your car can pull of the 15" Wheel look and I think it looks good but I thought your bigger wheels (the 18's) looked better on the car personally. I do like the fact it is unique and nobody has done it so im going to have to say nice job on the selection and keep on modding that sweet ride:D

With all the crap I've gone thru with springs there isnt much chance the car will get lowered again but I can see how making the wheel gap smaller would add a menacing touch. Thanks for the props everyone, I know the 18in Bullitts were some sharp looking rims and if I had thought that a different tire alone would have improved the ride that much I would have kept them. The ride is already far and away better (when my wife says so without prompting you know youve made a change)

For anyone who might be thinking about drag radials, these rims bolt right up with no spacers. Granted the clearance between the caliper bracket could be measured with a feeler guage but it still clears. They are almost as light as the Weld Draglite but still use the stock tapered seat lugnut. First my Summit fully welded mufflers helped solve my exhaust issues and now their Summit Sport wheels fix my 15in wheel quest. I'm likin these guys more everyday laugh

The whhels are polished aluminum Summit Sports in 15x8, 5.50 backspace, +26mm offset, 5x4.5 bolt pattern.

thread jack, but... the stock bulbs are of the '0' brightness category, you can step up to a '4' and they should improve significantly. I plan on doing this when it is warmer.

A good guess-timation on shipping will be $20 per wheel/tire combo for ground shipping.

I like the old school look. Only one thing would make it look better. A taller sidewalled tire on the rear. But being FWD it'd be out of place but asthetics wise :wow:

As for handling/response etc I wouldn't think they'd be anyworse then a standard all season long treadlife tire.

The lucky gent will most likely be the first one with enough cash. I'm also pretty sure I'll be selling them as a set. Splitting them up I think will make it harder to sell the other two. I havent quite settled on a price but I know it will be $400 or above. The tires are thin but not shot so I think they are easily worth that kind of money. I'll need to locate some boxes that will hold them and I think Bobby is about right on the shipping. I'm fairly sure it will be at least $20 per box, depending on the overall weight.
I'll get some pics up soon.

As much as I loved your car with the Bullitts TBat, I've gotta say I really like those rims on your car. I don't think I've ever seen a GP with anything like those and I have to say I'm loving the retro look. I wasn't really sure how it would turn out but even with the complete 180 on design choice I still you think you have one of the best looking GP's.

By the way, how's the ride now?

Sorry dude, my bad on that one laugh

Summit offers the Sport as well as a Star wheel based on what style you like. They are both $107 per wheel and any order over $100 carries flat $11.95 shipping rate for 3 day ground. So all in youre looking at less than $230.

REALLY diggin the sig, it is a nice retro look that only your car can pull off, IMO. I still dont care much for the rims, though. Glad you're enjoying your choice, that's what really matters, after all. So you are takin the Bat to Utah, then?

We've been planning a cross country trip for a few years now and its looking like it might happen next summer. Salt Lake City and the Flats will be one of the stops on the way out west to Oregon. Then Yellowstone, Mt Rushmore and some other points on the way home.

I've had the struts for a couple weeks now but either work schedule or weather hasnt been cooperating to get it done. As long as I have it ready to roll by Easter I'll be good.
