Has anyone ever had water leak out of their dome lights after a rain? :|

Couldn't figure out where it was coming from, but it's going into the sunroof motor and dribbling out of it to the lowest point, IE the lights and dripping out of the cracks. Can't find anything wrong with the sunroof seal though, and it's not like, a torrent or anything. Doesn't seem to be leaking anywhere else.

No passenger-side floorboard oceans. :p

So, has anyone had this and if so, where was the leak? I just need something to go on, because I'm not finding anything at all.

You know, some people would enjoy a gentle waterfall to soothe them while they commute to work. You're just ungreatful.

So, you found out that there is water going into the sunroof motor? I would pull everything out of there and reseal the entire thing. If it's not there.

While you're resealing, make sure the sunroof drain hoses in the A and C pillars aren't clogged with dirt, leaves, etc.

I'd check the drains first.

Torrential rain all day, no leaks.

Think the sunroof probably doesn't close all the way sometimes. Will just have to start double checking to make sure it's down completely before it rains.

Once all the water in the motor dried up, the sunroof moved fine as usual.

Thankfully it doesn't rain much around here.

Weird.

Mine has the same problem. I suspect the drains are clogged.

Mine used to leak by the lights and sunroof switch when it rained really hard, but it hasn't done that in a year. I hadn't gotten to fixing it yet, so I don't know why it stopped. It was funny though, it only did it under heavy rain, and usually the water only came out of the fixture up there when I accelerated. confused

check ur seal above your windshield, i have heard some people have had water seep through there and somehow make it through the dome lights.

That's where I think mine was coming from.

bringing this back from the dead!!! is there a write up on the sun roof leakage??? it didnt rain hard today but water poured through the dome lights. seems like the motor is letting water seep in.

Ya know, that's a good question, I dont think I saw any more traffic on this after Ace posted, at all. Have you done the obvious inspections (weather strips...)?
