Hey,

I have a 2000 GTP, and I believe the wheel bolt pattern is 5 x 115, and the car has the factory 16 inch wheels right now. I have found a set of 18" wheels for sale, and the bolt pattern is
5 x 100. I know they will not fit, but can I get an adapter to get them to fit? Will this give me a problem as the wheels would further out the thickness of the adapter (probably 1" or so).
Also, any problems with wheel well rubbing? I believe my car is lowered 1.3 inches since it is a retired pace car. I just bought my GTP in July, and this board has already been a great help...! thumbsup
Thanks.

Depending on the offset of the wheels you are wanting to buy it could be ok and work so long as your total offset is unchanged or is what it needs to be. But yeah it could cause probelsm and make the car completely different to drive.

Thanks zachd.
I'm gonna be in Evansville next week (Nov 21-23), and since I have the car stored down there, I may pull it out for a couple of days.
I really want to find a set of the wheels for this thing. I am probably better off waiting until I find a set with the correct bolt pattern though.

Yeah, I think people mistook what you described as wheel spacers. Those could work, if the offsets of the wheels+spacers was appropriate. But you are talking about adapters to change the bolt pattern. I have never heard of such an adapter. And even if it did exist, I wouldn't trust it... There are tons of wheels out there, you will definately find one that you like, in your budget, that you like...

Hey Bryan, thanks. There are a lot of wheels out there I like. The problem is this is one of the two actual pace cars from the 2000 Daytona 500, and they had a specific type of wheel on there that I want to get. 18 INCH Concept Neeper SHADOW wheels. They only made these for two years, and they used them on the 2000 and 2001 NASCAR Grand Prix Pace Cars. Pontiac takes the 18 INCH wheels off before the cars are released for sale. I have only seen two sets of these specific rims for sale since I started looking about 5 months ago, and they both had the wrong bolt pattern. It is going to be very difficult to find these wheels.

They where probably one offs made just for Pontiac. When you have lots of money you get whatever you want.

Yeah, unfortunately, I do not have lots of money. I did hear that a wheel company can MAKE me a set for $3200! I can't afford that, especially when I would need four tires also!

Anyway, I will take the car out for a day when I am down in Evansville if the weather is good!

If these wheels are really that sweet, and you wanted to experiment, you could try finding (or hell, even fabricating), a new hub assembly for you car, with the 115 bolt pattern. I've replaced the studs myself before they were incredibly easy. I'm sure with a little extra effort, you could probably find a 115 bolt pattern hub plate for the GP. What was the bolt pattern for the pre 97' GTPs?

Thanks Bryan. I am getting ahold of some wheel adapter companies tomorrow with questions. I know they make adapters, they are about an inch thick though. Changing the bolt pattern on the car sounds like an idea too. Anyway, thanks for the input. It really helps, and I hope my signature is correct now. The wheels ARE sweet. They can be seen at my cardomain site at www.cardomain.com/id/daytona500paceca
Thanks again for your help.
