Since they all have the 3800 V-6 motor, why did you guys buy a Grand Prix instead of a Monte Carlo or Chevy Impala?? Whats the reason

I actually rode in my cousins 96 Oldsmobile LSS, with the 3.8 S/C. Its pimp, and he told me to look for a 97 or newer grand prix, so I looked for a GTP, and I got a 2002 GTP.

Montes and Impalas didn't get the supercharged motor until much later, and they didn't run for long until the motors were changed again. GTP > them, if only for the length of the production run of the s/c motor.
I personally think Montes are ugly; the newer ones are better, but they still look weird. Impalas are boring-looking, especially the new ones, and they're EVERYWHERE, just like Mustangs.
I rarely ever see a GTP around here, it's all white/silver SEs and a few GTs. Reason enough for me. It's different in other places, though, I'm sure.

Well I got this because to many people had impalas and specially the police which I hate with a passion, far as the monte carlos, Im not really into two door cars because if I sit in a two door car, nobody can sit behind me because of my height.
So I think the grand prix is sexy but when I bought the car I did not know about gtp's then until I joined this site which was last year.
So the gtp or any supercharged grand prix is my next car in about 2 years or so.

I bought mine because:
1. It was fast 2. nobody thinks of a grand prix as being fast. 3. I like being different. 4. It was dark and a two door 5. Front wheel drive (wisconsin snow) 6. It was 40k less, 3 years newer, 10x nicer and faster than my stuck up aunts '97 GT 7. Got good deal 8. Montes are everywhere and ugly 9. My grandma dives a impala 10. Leather interior w/heated seat 11. Heads-up display 12. Having people say WTF was that when you blow past them with supercharger whinning. 13. Comfy, Roomy, sexy exterior, and don't handle like a boat. 14. It can smoke 99.9% of any import on the road 15. Its GM
Is that enough?

Hmmm I did my research, and I did drive a monte. But I really didn't like it, and the ones with the Sc really don't have badges that say it.
Also one of my friends had a Gp Gt, and I asked him if he were to get one again. which one would he get....he said if he could go back in time he would've looked for a GTP instead of the GT.
Also I wanted a Forced Induction! Nothing wrong with that.

To copy lonezergling, it was this or a Dodge Neon. I needed a car for college and for $3800 OTD with 88k miles on a '00, it couldn't be beat.

I was into getting a 2dr car. I didn't even think of the monte at the time. I like its rear but the front looks too boring. The impala is one of the most boring cars I've ever rode in. I'd be making $400+ payments a month on a rent a car. Personally, I'd rather own a pontiac than a chevy.
I decided the GT as it was the most fun to drive, love the exhaust sound and smiled over its looks. Finally, the monte's and especially the impala's gray interior looks "who ya foolin" super cheap.

The styling both exterior and interior of the Grand Prix by far out shines the other two. It is agressive and sporty. It makes a statement about the driver.

It wasa nice car with a nice ride quality, but I got tired of the car and the problems with it. (3.4L DOHC FTL) Traded the Monte in and got my gp, havent regreted it.
