Yeah we got about 14 a night there on a heavy night. 11-13 on low nights. I got fired though lol because I broke a confidental law during a meeting, people said I was making racists remarks even though it was one guy who started it all because he couldnt keep up with my work. He got me fired while the boss was on vacation lol real nice time to do it lol. My bossl liked me a lot. Fed Ex dont pay as much as UPS though. Becauase UPS is full time. Fedex, was never full time. How long you worked there for?

I've looked into the UPS terminals around me and they all are 5:30-9, 5 days a week. They only pay from $8.50-9 and then take out for the union.

I've been at fedex ground for almost a year. couple more weeks and I'll get a .25 cent raise. That is mad cash.

lol yeah different regions pay different cash. UPS was full time around my area and they started ya at 8.50 all the way to like 10.50 and you got your benefits, and it was full time. I worked 3rds which I know you must also do as well. I was gettin 9.50 an hr then I was gettin college tuition so it was 10.50 an hr all said and done, but no the work wasnt worth it, it sucked ass and i would unload 3-4 trailers back to back every night. Thank God the nightmare is over.

I work 5:30-10:30. I unload the south belt, so I have 10 delivery trucks, 2 straight trucks, 2 pup trailors, and when I get done with that I have to go to the north belt and help him with his 2 55' trailors and whatever remaining trucks he has left. And occasionally I'll have to do smalls cuz we'll be short handed. Ann Arbor doesnt get as much as Saginaw does, we get like 6-7k on the average. The job blows, but it pays just enough to cover the bills and have some pocket change left over. Plus I get the weekends off and dont have to deal with any customers.

I worked a few years back during christmas for UPS, four of us unloaded 28 trailers a night for a week. Talk about going from day to day life to overnite shifts with back breaking work.

I assume you had help. From what I've heard, UPS actually gives employees stuff for christmas and also provides them with proper equipment. Fedex Ground gives you nothing and only has the crappiest of equipment. The drivers even have to buy their own trucks and pay to maintain them plus pay for gas.

What do you mean help? Just four guys and those metal roller things. We had one break, barely pushing 10 minutes. I would not do it again. It was non stop box after box and once the last box left the truck he was like come over here and start on this one as they opened the back and boxes fell out like an avalanch. I put my back through some hell. They gave me nothing but a $1 hour more than what they first proclaimed (which was nice when I got the check). It was temp help and I was first going to be a driver helper and I offered to help the night shift out, well I made a huge mistake.

Sorry to chime into this thread after the fact, but...

I drove a magnum for a couple days as a rental, with the 3.5l V6 - it was a nice car, and I'd like to have one with the hemi. The 3.5l was no slouch, but the car is heavy, and it never felt very fast. However, the butt dyno isn't always accurate. I'd say from it specs a mid-15 sec 1/4 is doable, under the right conditions and with the right driver. He is totally having diarhea of the mouth when talking about an 18 second run with the windows down.

Oh, and 24" rims would add so much more rotational mass over stock that it would make a noticeable difference in SLOWING the car.

Tell him to add a 600 pound stereo system and lots of bling to make it go real fast.

everyday this week the guy has asked if I wanted to race him or to give me stats about his car. Yesterday he told me that his car is almost 3900lbs and I told him mine was almost 3400lbs and he was shocked that his car was almost 500lbs heavier. He didnt believe me at first, but I had been telling him since he challenged me that my car is lighter.

Tell him you're so impressed with his stats, you're thinking of trading up for a Hemi Charger, and you'll even leave the windows down, just to even things up a bit. wink
