yep i finally have black rims! It was a spur of the moment thing and i like it!! Lets here the opinions..It looks really weird to not have polished rims anymore..so i kinda have mixed feelings but i think i will like them in the long run.

Honestly, I like your rims on your sig but after I see clubgp. Almost all of them go for black paint on stock wheels. I guess your ride and your choice. Not bad but it is kind like steel wheel with missing hubcap.

well i actually traded with someone because he is trading his car to someone else. The car he is trading for has some black 17's on it, if i like those rims better i might trade these Tstars for those black 17's. But i think i might just end keeping these.

i would have left the lip polished. but it looks pretty good

well if i was going to do it with my wheels i would have only done the "star" in black. but these were free and the tires are pretty much brand new so i couldnt refuse! haha

Let me get this straight. You painted polished Torque stars? What a shame. Polished Tstars are hard enought to come by and you take another set of the streets. I woulda been happy to trade you my painted stars for the polished ones.

yes herc. i would have kept mine polished BUT i helped a friend out. He needed to trade his car with the polished tstars to complete the trade with another member on clubgp.

I did just find a set of torque stars, sitting on top of a grand prix interior in the gp, blown out windows for $200.
But I have set.
This junk yard had 4 gps, and one was gtp. No fires.

herc i DID NOT paint the wheels AT ALL. The wheels came painted! Ben that is EXACTLY what i WANTED to do with MY polished Torque Stars that I TRADED AWAY. i MIGHT spray some gloss over the top of them to help them stand out but idk yet.

'01 GT, yah i like just the star being black, i thought itd be really neat so tried it on my car and I like! I may actually try something like that on my wheels since there just the winter crappy 1's I would feel bad painting them since there hard to come by though, and eventually I may end up selling them and alot of the time the all black look probably wouldnt look good on a majority of grand prix's without like tinted tails or window tint.

which is why i figured it would look good! So im going to keep em and if anything use them as winter wheels for when i get 18's sometime down the road!

Get some 18" American Racing Casino's like me only in black, they would look great on your car espically if you get a chrome lip around the edge.

The T-Stars look better in black than my old tri-stars did...not everyone digs the all black look...I always liked it on black cars and maybe white or red. I think it lends a good contrast and has that "all business" kind of appearance.

I may very well go back to black wheels on the T-Bat since I may have to have tires in the spring for inspection...plus I'm little weary of the hard ride with the 18s...still havent found a wheel that really grabs me yet but still looking.

If you wanted to add a little accent you could do chrome lug nuts (or red anodized) and possibly even a thin red pinstripe arond the lip of the wheel (a'la NASCAR rims)

Looks good with the dark tint and the black grilles.

Different strokes for different folks I guess...

But that's not going to save you from a beating the next time I see you!

I love the way they look on a black car plus your black tint really brings it out. Just put some clear coat on them and your good to go.

I have my wheels painted black on my white car and love the look. My is the 5 star wheels and gives my car a mean muscular look.

Upon more thorough inspection, if you paint the cailpers red and put some tires with bold white lettering them them, they will look pretty sick...

I think it would have looked really good if you had just left the polished lip instead of painting the whole rim black, Tim.

I would think you should be able to sand down the paint along the lip to re-expose the metal.

Tim use black wheel that come from (silver PAINT) torque star that he trade his old high polish star to other person. There is no lip for that polish since his black wheel is under paint silver star. Read carefully lol

just for the sake of reference Tim...heres a shot of my black painted tri-star after I painted my calipers and added my drilled/slotted rotors. The wheels were glossy black until some yutz at the car wash shot that caustic wheel cleaner on them and it wiped the shine right off.

hey tim.. how come that lip were you put the wheel weights isnt polished, you painted right over it ... im just messen tim yes i would wait to paint your calipers, i need to go back and repaint myn but that will be in spring , sand and salt arnt the best for them lol,
