I'm thinking about buying a CAI and leaning towards the SLP cause its cheaper then the Thrasher, plus it says you need to buy a coolant recovery tank with the Thrasher for another $25.

Anyone know if the filter that comes with the SLP is a K&N ? Anyone know if I'd need the coolant recovery tank with the SLP?

Also, someone said they thought that the SLP box only houses a 7" filter vs. the 9" filter on other systems. Anyone know if this is true?

Thanks,
Dave

It really doesnt matter which one you get as far as the coolant tank. If your car has one in the front by the headlight then you would need to move it.

Alot of us prefer the MSP one.

If you have a 97 or 98 you will need to move the coolant tank...I got mine from the dealer for $20 bucks...just say you want the tank for a 99+. Also, The SLP box uses a 7" cone...as oppossed to the Thrasher that has a 9"....and take it from a girl..bigger is better...haaahaa cheers

I had the SLP, and now have the MSP.

For a 97-98 you will need to move the overflow bottle if you use the Thrasher or MSP, no need with the SLP.

The Slp is quieter that the others, and looks more like stock, but used a 7" cone. FWIW at WOT my MSP is louder than my Borla exh. wink

The filter in my SLP was not a K&N, just a K&N copy, like is avalible from Summit or Jegs.

reprogrammed PCM's are the same size as the regular PCM's. It is just the program that changes, nothing physical.
