50's on a pretty much stock car sound ok, i guess.

50's on a mod'd car... (headers, dp, u-bend, etc.) = horrible

But then again, i think that 40's sound bad too.

I guess my opinion doesnt matter that much, i dont like any flowmasters on these cars

After reading all of Tbats exhaust trys and he's happiest with the summits I'd have to say summits. Which I think in all reality are Magnaflows without the name.

Summit is winning. But only barely...Flows is still in the race, with MagnaFlow fallin far behind...

I have the summit fully welded on my 03 GP GT and magnaflows on my wife 04 Monte SS. They sound identical to me. If you PM me my your email, I can send you a .wav of my exhaust. I also had removed the resonator but still have the U-bend. I plan on doing 2.5" DPs soon.

So, I should get 2.5 in/out since i want to keep the stock tips, but i'm gonna need reducers? Why not just get 2.25 in with no reducers.
Theres no bolt on's that come with fm 40's for these cars?
So I'll have to weld it on and at the same time i could have the delete done?
Kill two birds with one stone?

Because the tubing is smaller then 2.25. Iirc the tubing is 2.0 So 2.25 is still too big.

Because of the smaller tubing for the dual exhaust there is no "bolt on". So you have two options use reducers and clamps or use reducers and weld.

Since you want to use the stock tips 2.5 is what you want. The stock tips will need to be bolted on becuase they are aluminum and aluminum and steal don't weld together very well.

Check my google page for pics of my car and 4 exhaust clips with the Summit Mufflers. Two at idle, with some small revs, 1 part throttle 30-65 on ramp and one 65 mph cruise.
