I have a constant chirping noise that sounds like its coming from the belt while the car is idling and its just really annoying. Any suggestions on how to stop this?

Hmm has it ever been replaced before? Sounds like it's time to replace it.

I have a 2002 GT that I just got in April. I wouldn't think I'd need a new belt already.

I'd take it in to the dealer, since it's under warranty. It could be lots of things, tensioner, misalignment, etc.

Simple answer. Go to ANY auto supply store and buy a spray can of belt dressing (just tell the guy you want a can of belt-squeak). Then, with the motor running, aim the nozzle at the ribbed (inner) part of the belt and give it a one second burst. Guaranteed to make your belt shut up.

If it starts to squeak again later on, shoot it again.
