So I'm guessing the yellow wire needs to be split and attached to either pole of the button switch?

this is how I would wire it. I like to use relays because then the switch doesn't have to carry the load, and you can choose from more switches.

The yellow wire you cut coming FROM the ignition switch gets taped off since it won't be used the side you cut that goes TO the harness gets connected to the relay.

you wont be "stealing" any idea...if you can pull it off and works fine without other issues that just reassures me that it will work ...and if it doesnt, I have no problem learning from your mistakes laugh

The worst that could happen by splicing into the yellow wire, is either one of the main ignition fuses will pop, or the dash will catch fire, no big deal... devilwink

sounds like a cool idea, From working at the dealership i know that you can "hide" a key for autostart for the cars with the pass(chip) keys, but you still need an actual key in the ignition to un lock the steering wheel, unless of course you disable that, but then again it is a theft deturent, but it is still a cool idea!!
