Simple (maybe stupid) question, but how do you replace the battery on these? Do you just pop it in half? Mine stopped working, and I'd been having problems with it anyway, so I'm assuming the battery is gone. I had two, but the other one went missing a little while back. <_<

And what battery do I need?

theres a notch on the end where the key ring attaches, stick a coin or something in there and pry it apart. Very simple to pull old battery and re-attach

OK, the new battery is in, but the key fob still isn't working properly. For a while, it wouldn't work at all. I played with it, twisted the battery a little, and eventually it started working. Sort of. Sometimes it'll work, sometimes it won't, sometimes it'll just unlock the drivers door and then quit working.

It's acting sort of like the battery is almost dead, but it's brand new.

Any ideas? confused

Maybe it could be other bad battery?

2006 Pontiac G6 key remote have a dead battery. What a surprise. It is only last one year. My grand prix key remote still have original battery  then buy new battery. It was same problem. I went back to store for switch for "bad battery" to "new battery". It is working now. You could have a bad battery. Or try reprogramming like someone mentioned it. Pontiac G6 don't need reprogramming after new battery. Maybe our grand prix might be different than G6.

It could just be a bad remote, Ace. I had the same problems with mine; one remote worked, the other one was hit and miss after replacing the battery.

Tried to reprogram it, didn't help, so I replaced it with a new one and reprogrammed it along with the good one.

I would just buy a couple off Ebay and program them: http://www.programyourremote.com/classified/DisplayAd.asp?id=1358
