when i drive i think casper is hitting the lock unlock buttons on my car... because it just randomly locks unlocks, locks, unlocks, ect... when i turn the car off and turn it back on it stops but sometimes it comes back... any ideas???

A family member has a key fob and is messing with you.

no im miles away from the house actually driving the car... noones around... im serious... its not a joke

that happens to me every once in a very great while. Usually on very hot days for some reason.

Could be radio interference on the channel your remote uses. Could also be a shorted or faulty keyless entry module.

Check for a bad ground. I have a van that did that, one of the grounds were exposed and was causing it to lock/unlock.

now that i remember i did drop my keys and the remote into a bucket of water when i was washing it about a month ago...

Time for a new remote... Electrical gremlins can be hard to find; my dad's Park Ave came down with the "blinking headlights and interior display syndrome" yesterday. Heard a clicking sound behind the dash; traced it to a headlight module. Since the lights wouldn't shut off, I bought a new module. Of course, right after I ordered it, the problem went away! :rolleyes:

it did it again today... i hear that clicking too it sounds just like the turn signal... but the car just unlocks and locks... and today the interior lights kept turning on and off... of course when i turned it off and then back on it stoped...

its been three weeks and its still doing it... i dont know what to do about it... its kinda annoying... especially when the lights go on and off

Use your spare key+fob for a while, leave the possible culprit at home, and see if thats it.

yeah, as stated earlier, if you dropped it in water that could be the culprit

Yup, leave your Keyfob at home for a few days, if it still does it, take it to an auto electric specialist, could be a short somewhere

Mine did that but it had nothing to do with the key fob.

It was a bad fuse. Sorry I can't recall which fuse but you can try the fuse for the door lock first.

On my end it was the MAP sensor. When I replaced it, the on/off locking stopped. Note I did have a code but the SES light wasn't on. I knew I had a code only because of the Aeroforce gauge. Your MAP sensor may be bad also. Why the map sensor affected the locks? Either the misinformation from the MAP + tranny position told the computer to unlock thinking it was in park. Dunno.

That's crazy... I have no idea how a MAP sensor could cause that!

yea i'll have to check it out because i left the remote at home... and it still did it... did yours do it all the time or did i just choose when to do ti... mine just does it at random... 10 min it wont 10 min it will... and the interior lights are flashing now... and it sounds like the little click from the turn signal is going off too...

Mine was completely random. About every 5 to 20 seconds.

Now the interior light flashing, that's different. Click noise? Now I am sensing short. Still recommend getting it scanned.
