When I am driving ,usually at slower speeds, the front makes a grinding/groaning noise when it goes over bumps and what not. I'm assuming that the struts need to be replaced. The previous owner did a lot of work on the car. They lowered it, tinted the windows, put on the rims, ect... How does one know what kind of struts are on the vehicle? I checked the springs and I saw that at least the fronts were eibach (the back springs are pretty dusty due to living on a dirt road)
I would like to get some new struts that would compliment the lowering springs. What are good struts that work well with lowering springs, but wont rip me a new one when it comes to pay for them?
I know about the koni's and kyb's. I've read the kyb's arent the best for a lowered car, but the koni's are $700 and I'm not looking to spend that much. Is there a cheaper application that is similar?

KYB's will work fine, you just gotta do the pogo mod. You can kit the kit from www.zzperformance.com

My GTP is lowered with Gen2 eibachs, and KYB GR2's with the anti-pogo mod. Yes, the anti-pogo mod works.
