I have a 01 grand prix gt 4 door. Literally overnight the driver side window ONLYstopped working and it wont go down. If u listen close you can hear it clicking at the switch. The dealer said it would cost 250.00 to fix it at the most. BUT....WHATS WRONG????? they said its either the switch or the regulator......any thoughts before i open the wallet????

If you get 250 for the regulator you did good. I paid 450 for the regulator and motor. My regulator went out and I had to replace the whole assembly........

I just fixed my passenger side window today. They said it was my motor and i knew thats a way to get money! (Screwed in the past) i tried 5 hours of work and finnaly got the problem. My switch was bad. there was no power getting to the motor. so i hooked up power from the battery using gator clips and got it to go up. went to the dealer and got a switch for $25. and whola i fixed it better thne paying all that money!

My window was getting stuck because my weatherstripping was dried out and grabbed at the window. I just sprayed some silicon into the areas that were causing the problem and it was done. This doesn't sound like it could be your problem, but it's worth the money to at least rule out.

If I were in your shoes I would have the dealer diagnose this. I'm sure you are capable of fixing whatever the problem is; but if you don't know where to start then you'll end up buying useless parts before you get to the root of the problem
