Ordonez .. by screwing onto my power wire , i'm slightly confused by that .. sorry for asking but i'm just not 100% sure on what i'm supposed to do here!

And Jaybuy : i am for sure going to fuse it under the hood! The kit came with a long line of thicker plastic tubing that is supposed to by used for outside wires , i dont see the coating wearing through anytime soon .. but you do have a good point. Hopefully i'll get this fuse on ASAP and be able to enjoy my latest purchase.

Routing through the door works fine for 8ga or smaller, I'll take some pics of my wiring some time, it does not look amateur and has been this way for a couple years, no wearing on the wires. As you say, if there were to be a problem, that is why the line is fused. smile

K here is the picture of the kit laid out from CDN Tire. The wire i'm talking about is the circle red one with the black connectors. Thats the one thats the fuse wire and i'm confused as to how to connect it.

Anyone able to tell me how I'm able to connect the fused wire to my power wire?

thats a crappy kit, can you take some more detailed pics of the fuse holder? It looks like at a minimum, you will need to splice the short red wire and the long red wire together.

K here are a few pics of me holding it

as you can see them un-screwed .. the fuse sits in the bigger end.

hrm, thats very strange. it should go like this: battery -> ring terminal -> red wire -> fuse -> red wire -> amplifier.

That kit didn't come with any instructions? sorry, but a loop of wire with a fuse is not going to work... you need a straight piece with a fuse inline, so if you cut that loop in half, it'll work... but since its supposed to be a kit, you shouldn't need to do that.

WTF is that?

Is there a spot for a fuse inside of the black connectors?

There is no way for that to work... you are gonna have to splice it. It can't be its own separate loop.

Thats the point of it. Cut the wire and make it 2 pieces then wire it in.

that wire is pretty small too.

but yea, basically you are going to be cutting that "loop" and crimping on a ring terminal that will fit over your positive post above the fuse box. and you will have to get a "butt" connector to connect the other end of the fuse holder to the main long red wire.

crappy kit man. but if you have to make it work....

I'll throw this out there 1 more time, USE HEAT SHRINK CONNECTORS!!

lol, I woulda been confused too. that is just terrible, its a bundle of wires, not an amplifier wiring kit.
