Hey ya guys, This is nate the guy that has the 275K mile car that needs considerate work. Ive decided im going to fix the car only to drive it as an every day car. I am going to save now that I have my job at durlolast roofing and its about time too. ANyhow, seeing as though the gto ran around 32,000 brand new in 2005 and nows its selling for around 18,000 to 22,000 is it safe to say that in another 2 years once I save enough to take out a loan and have held my job for over a year that they should be down to around 12,000 to 14,000. I figure around 4 to 6 thousand a year roughly that they will drop in price. just a rough answer if you guys have any idea. I mean what were GTPs brand new, like all cars they drop considerabally

If you search, you can find a good deal. In two years, anything can happen, and will. Other cars will be out. Technology by then may even be drastically different. Your taste will be too. So Just do your saving and see what happens.

I say its possible because I've seen some at a little over 17,000 and with then two years it might can happen since people say the value on pontiacs goes down quick from what I was told.

the only thing im wondering about those cars, is because they only made them for 3 years, how hard is it gonna be to get parts for it a few years down the road...

Yeah Ive got 3 points on my liscence ran a red light long ago. Its been 2 yearss. Surprizingly I pay 78 bucks a month for PLDPD on the GTP through progressive. But oddly I put a quote full coverage 1000 deductable yeah I know its crappy. Insurance even the broad no matter if its your fault accident Id be paying like 235-245 a month really not too bad when ya look at it. That would be less then a weeks pay at my new job where im starting out at 260 a week. Yeah 100 decuctable put it up to like 380 a month. Those 3 points make my insurance go up about 45 bucks a month, so id be paying like 55 right now if I didnt have them instead of the 75 I pay. lol Yeah I just turned 21 2 months ago that dropped insurance almost 30 bucks a month

If you can afford it, I'd say go for it. Save as much as you can so you can put down as much as you can. You'll probably want to factor in a higher insurance rate since you'll probably get a speeding ticket or two after you buy it.

I hear ya brown, thats the plan, my brother and my parents are saying yeah right out your you know what youll never save the money for the car, we shall see when im saving 50 to 75 bucks a month from now on. It will add up real quick. Id like to do a down payment of about 5000-to 7500 on it so the loan wont be huge. But god I cant get over the power of them 2 years of the GTO, yes I know they get criticized like none other by peeps who like the old ones, but how can ya argue when they are slammin down that much power.

Do'nt knock the 04's with an LS1 with a few minor mods they will run dead even with the LS2,plus you can probably get a much better buy on an 04 and the LS1 is'nt having the same problems that it's brother's having, put on an 05 hood and your golden.Chico.

Don't expect the price to fall out of the bottom. Being they were a short run any low-mileage/well taken care of GTO will commend anywhere from 15k and up. I believe once the initial hit is taken the depreciacion will slow down considerably.

depreciacion sucks .... buying a car isnt a good investment.... but who cares i have bought and sold many of them lol .... the best resale value that i can think of is on a jeep wrangler they have an extreamly good resale value.... but with gas the way it is its not real smart to drive one for a daily driver but they are a heck of alot of fun lol.... way to go set goals and stick to them and in a coupple years you could have a sweet gto

By the time you buy it, in two years, and you have already two years on that ticket, another two will erase it from your record, and you will be 23, and your insurance will drop with the ticket gone and your age. I just turned 23 last month and mine just went down $20 a month. When I had a ticket for a wreck, mine went up like $95 a month. Then I drove the vette, and I was hitting consistant $300 sometimes more a month for insurance. When you think of it, like throwing money down the drain, unless you get in a wreck, but most of the time you try not to, so you can do alot with $300 a month instead of insurance. So good luck!

Yeah at that rate it will be like 20 years before I could get one of them. Im not gettin rid of the grand prix, its gonna be my side kick car. lol gonna replace the core support, winshield, and dashboard with my first pay checks. The Grand prix gods didnt want me to get rid of my car when I put it in a ditch last decemeber due some old guy lol. And he ran off too phh! lol Chico, what were ya saying about them having problems, the 05 and 06. What types of problems. Plus on top of that, where in the world are they gettin the 7.5 litre engine. FRom a Corvette?

Another concern two years down the road will be how many/what quality GTOs will still be available.

There are no more of these cars being made.

Really think about that.

Every time one gets wrecked and totalled it will not be replaced. When one gets driven into the ground and gets trashed by a slack, negligent owner - or worse, owners - count that one out.

I hopped on a good deal for an '04. I personally preferred the more subtle look of the '04s, and got one with low mileage and in good shape, so I was happy with it.

Yeah, thats one reason I dont plan on totally trashing this car no matter what. Cause in time there wont be too many of cars around. This one just needs about 3000 dollars in work that I dont want to put in it all at once lol.
