Did you read my mind or something? That's how I want to make my car look like this. I have planned for this since June. Look like you beat me but it is good to know how mine will look like this in galaxy silver color.

*edit* did you just spray the dog bone without remove them? I noticed some silver spray spot.

Palsut - I did NOT take them off - i know it would've been more visually nice but .. i just wasn't personally comfortable with taking off mounts that hold my engine lol!

And yeah i figured i had the ENTIRE afternooon / evening to get this done so i jumped on it. Not a problem, better than buying a dash kit for fricken 50 bucks off ebay thats for sure ..

how did you do the dash bezel? it looks real good...

Um - Its removeable, there is a few guides on the net its actually quite simple once you get the hang of it .. just removed it and used a Krylon (plastic) type of paint .. went with silver since the car is that colour.

Did you have a bowl of rice when you did that?? lol J/K.

at least you didn't paint it fluorescent green!

Yeah WTF ! I noticed all these sweet DIC's and i have this POS thats called a DIC lol. Whatever, not like it is needed THAT much. I'm happy and content with what i got, for now.

Are you able to buy a different one? I'm sure its do-able?

yea the digital DIC is like a heated seat, you don't need it but its kinda nice to have!

well I swapped one in, some cars have the connector hiding in the dash so its just cake. But like mine I had to do plenty of cutting and splicing.

Haha yeah no kidding. I've found a lot of differences in the panels of other GT's here.

Yea I have the dual climate control but no HUD and the analog DIC in my GT as well.

That is, I used to have an analog DIC, but I found the digital harness behind my dash and now I have a digital DIC.

Quick shots of the front in my garage, followed by a shot of the debadging, driver side. You can kinda see the marks left over, which i'll be tending to tomorrow.

I like tinted tails, but I don't mind these either, cleared factory tails

if you get board, and want to make your car super shiny, wash it, dry it with clean terry towels. look for any large things stuck on the paint (tar etc) and get those off. Follow with a clay bar (you can buy a kit at a parts store.)

the clay bar removes all the tiny particles trapped in the clear coat that your car has collected over the years!

then you can re wash it and dry it (more CLEAN terry towels) and then wax it, and no wax on wax off stuff, you are not learning Karate (from the karate kid movie) if you apply it going only in 1 direction, you won't get swirls! Same with removing the wax.

then get some sunglasses to block the GLARE off the car!

its not very fun, and will take up many hours, but its very rewarding!

May i ask how you cleared your tails? :p Mine are filled with WATER .. most likely just condensation but its annoying as hell, in turn why i was wanting to TINT them to rid the awful sight of it!

it can be done by sticking something through the bulb hole, and smashing the red lens into small enough pieces to come out the bulb hole. That is how I did it on my first GT.

I bought this set though, so I think you could also separate the lens and remove the red part that way, but I have never tried it.

either way, you'd want a spare set of tails "just in case" especially if the car is a daily driver.

there are so many different ways to change the look of your car. The hard part is doing something unique.

I know cleared stock tails is not that unique, but I don;t think too many people have them either.

you pretty much HAVE to run LED bulbs with these to make your tails light up RED, not pink like a painted bulb might be.

and when running LED's you have to modify, or buy a flasher able to work with LED's

so its not just a anyone can do it, off the shelf type mod.

Yank that junk off. Use your Fusion paint and do something with the cover.

I suppose i could just use the Krylon paint i used for the interior since the box is plastic yes?

That'll be my next upgrade in a week or so, getting a new intake.

no i meant once it is off, what did you do to paint it, ex sand,primer,clear etc...

Oh - i used a Krylon type paint (paint section at your local hardware store) .. Silver colour. Its a plastic spray paint, no sanding / primer required. Dries in like 45 seconds, i did about 3 - 5 coats on the bigger pieces and 2-3 on the smaller ones just to ensure i got it all covered. Here are a few more daylight pictures

Youve pretty much done all of the cheap/free mods. Get one of those headlight restore kits, debadge the trunk, maybe paint the rims?

I acutally bought a headlight restore cream today .. it did nice to the left headlight, and the right one which is bad is semi clear now .. probably should've bought the 5 dollar more kit. Meh.

And yes the added U in words is quite obvious. Haha.

And can you give me any suggestions as to the rim painting?

keep in mind, if you are planning on buying the bullit wheels, you can sell the stock ones to recoup some of the cost!

that is what I did. Free up some cash for other things....
