I need to put the GTP up on four jackstands for the first time. What are the best spots front and rear for the stands? How about for jacking up the vehicle while doing this? Thanks!

Thanks Herc. You can not ask for any clearer than that.

Hey Herc,

Where do you put the jack so you can slide the stands underneath the rear?
It seems that there is only one place for the jack....Right where the stands go....Other than the Body rail where the spare tire jack is supposed to go.
I've bent up my body rails with the floor jack, not knowing anywhere else to go with it.

Later now,
Clint

am I the only one here that puts the jack under the A-arm of the suspension as close to the wheel as I can??

I thought that was prime location for a jack. I know that I've never had any problems whatsoever whenever I jack my car up, but maybe I'm just lucky

crazy devilgrin

When working on my Achieva, my uncle was the one who taught me how to do the brakes and so on. We would always jack up the car with a floor jack by placing the it on the frame where the a-arm connected, but not on the suspension part itself. It was a good solid area for temporary work. I haven't really spent any time under the GP yet, so can't say the same will work.

There is enough room to raise the car with the jack and place the stand next to the jack.
