Yep when money's tight kinda hard to sell that you need new muffs cause stocks aren't loud enough.

Now if you needed to replace the muffs cause they "rusted" out and have holes is another story. Cause you don't want to be pulled over for excessive noise wink

turbo will be quieter, but guaranteed to have no interior resonance. Vortex may have some resonance, especially if you get rid of your U-bend or resonator. They will also have some crackle where the turbos will not.

i got a 3"dp and i still have the stock res, i can tell now that it is so much louder than with my cat and ubend i also have stock tips
