Does anyone know if the 3100 engine has a plastic toothed cam sprocket? A lot of General Motors cars do, and they usually wear out anywhere from 80K to 140K miles. Then, the timing chain slips, and valves get hit by pistons and push rods get bent.

Curious about the 3100 in a 98 Grand Prix.
