i think i have the BCA in my passanger side and its quiet.. the one in the drivers side was SKF brand from NAPA. but i swear the Timken, BCA and SKF look all the same.

With the steering popping, you really should check your ball joints, tie rod ends, and pretty much anything and everything that deals with steering/pivoting. Be sure to include the A-Arm mounts, as well.

I replaced the ball joint, innner and outer tie rods, driveshaft, the A-arm mounts seem tight, and they (whole cradle and A-arms) were actaully swapped off a GP with about 34k on it when they swapped my tranny a few months back. also new strut top plates w/bearings. sound never changed after all of those things were swapped. then i did the found out for sure its the hub because i can swap it with the passanger side hub and the sound follows the hub.

how it makes that popping sound is beyond me. its Evil i swear!
