Going tomorrow morning at 9am to get my windows tinted. Any advice on what % to get. 2002 GPGT which is "Dark Tropic Teal". I am getting the Formula One brand, the guy at the place said that is the best brand he knows of and it has a nationwide lifetime guarantee. Here in ohio the legal limit for the front windows is 50% but that is hardly anything. i know quite a few people with darker tint than that and no problems so i am planning on getting either 38% or 30% for the front two and 15% for the back windows. Anyone suggest other wise or agree? anything would be great ....

I got 35% all around which is as dark as you can go in Oregon (the tint in my sig line is photoshopped, mine in real life is a little darker). I'd suggest something more like 20% if you can do it.

The only other tip I have is to remove the back deck of your car so they can tint over the third brake light. I did not do this, and they tinted around it. Take the time to remove it for them so they can tint the whole back window.

When I had my Prelude tinted I had medium on all side windows and double layer medium on the back window. It was awsome and I'd love to have my GP re-tinted the same way some day.
What ever you do make sure you get a metalized tint, not the dyed tint.

I had my windows tinted in March of 2000, 20% Smoke color. I've never been harassed about it. I think the limit in Virginia is 35%, but I don't care. I'm crazy like that. I only paid $160 for all 7 windows, they count the small ones is the back too. Including tip. They are starting to fade a little bit now, but they still do the job. The pic in my sig was taken in May of last year. I was not able to figure out how to remove the back deck, but it doesn't look bad.

You gotta remove the entire back seat to remove the rear deck cover.

I think I paid $240 for mine and it has a lifetime warranty if it ever bubbles, fades or cracks.

I was just saying that in my personal opinion 20% or darker all around looks best. I wish I could have gone darker than 35% on mine, but I didn't want to break the law.

I paid $110 for all my windows tinted at 20% and that included removing the old Super stuck-on tint. My car is black so you can imagine how dark it looks. smile Here's a pic:

I agree with UMfan, 20% if you can do it. In Kentucky you can go 20% on the front windows and doesnt really matter, as far as i know, about the rest. I am having mine redone on Monday and putting 15% all the way around. They are charging $125 to do it, but wanted another $100 to strip the old tint off. I ended up taking the old tint off myself with a steamer. took about half an hour. will be posting some new pics first part of next week.
