coundn't a local exhaust shop produce a downpipe that would save some $$$? or are the ones online way better?

You want to make sure that you get one that is mandrel bent, or else, you are causing the same thing that our factory pipes have, they decrease in size on the bends. Few exhaust shops have them, but there are more and more out there every day. Here is the website to a guy that is here in Topeka KS that I have been talking to about doing mine. Since he is a customer of ours, and I can get a discount. His parts look just as good as PFYC or ZZP's.

depends on the shop, midas, speedy etc work off cheap product with quick installs ( there are a few independant shops that are the exception)...find a good local shop and you can most likely not only save a few $$ but end up with a better job

would i be wrong in thinking that a 3' dp would be better than the fact stuff even if it is not mandral?

Factory D/P is double walled, inner pipe is about 2 1/8" or so. 3" replacement pipe makes it a true 3" D/P, so yes an aftermarket D/P would be better than oem, even if oem was mandral it would still be double walled.

I think what Big dog was asking was is a 3"dp that was crush bent better than our factory DP and the answer is yes .Chico.
