Has anybody seen it on a GP? Tried it?
I think I want to do it and wondering if I will lose back-pressure by taking away the mufflers...?
I have the R/T DP & Cat..and Borla exhaust now
What do ya think?

http://www.signsbydrex.com/ Their car has side exhaust, couldnt tell you much more though.... I dont care for the little metal pieces in the back for the old exhaust exits.

Sweet looking GP.
I would say that you would have to put on a shield of some sort to protect the fuel lines from the heat.

yes, I agree about the fuel lines.... but as far as pressure.... Because, I know that a cut-out lowers performance (very noticeably)...so I wasn't sure if doing this would also...I know it will involve some custom exhaust work/pipe bending though.... But I guess I want to make sure I'm not going to lose power by taking away my muff's.... It's just that my step dad has an 80 Vette and just bought some chrome side pipes and I'm jealous...plus I want to be the only GP in the state with em I go for uniqueness (sp?) haha

Aaron, Which car are you talking about, the white one in my sig, or the silver one in the pic? The silver one is not mine. Mine is the white one in my sig.

Is that a Resonator after that ugly stock cat? See I just want someone to bend and weld straight pipe from the back of my R/T D/p & Cat to the sides... I think it shouldn't cost too much...right? Thanks for the info Herc and the pics Austin Appreciate it!

Hello,
Without any noise suppression(Catalytic Converter, or Resonator) you will be excessively loud..... Loud enough to get pulled over. If you are planning on doing this for track use only, be sure to check with your local track, as most tracks require mufflers at some events.

Thank you. But I have the High-flow Cat Converter from Random Technology with the 3" Downpipe so no, it's not just pipe from my manifolds or anything.

so no, it's not just pipe from my manifolds or anything. Hello, I'm certainly not trying to tell you what to do...... But with the RT Cat...... Fair Warning is what I'm giving if that's your only silencer. I used to run around with open headers on my old Monte Carlo, so I can relate. When you get this done, you should find a way to get a recording to share with us...... Keep us informed on your experience....

Friend with a tibby has just a pipe from the engine to the back of his car. It is EXTREMELY loud and EXTREMELY annoying. Its like putting a weedwacker next to a megaphone, and putting the megaphone next to your ear. Hope you like paying fines too... He got in MAJOR trouble from the Popo around here.

aha
But wouldn't you think that there'd be a difference in noise between straight headers and then my setup, with stock mannies, downpipe and cat converter?
(I was bored one day last summer and made my own cutout on my stock exhaust..I did the cutout in the middle of the resonator...and that was loud... So I dunno, maybe I should get somebody to weld a little muffler in the middle like the one above...
