Trust me when I say that is about the biggest you will be able to fit into the 3100 engine compartment -- unless you can find a way to relocate the MAF, which is the main hindrance to the filter-to-TB setup on the 3100.
Oh, and the filter may look narrow, but read the dimensions - it's pretty big
