so basically the title explains it all. A friend is considering selling me his stage 2 tb, i have a stock blower and was wondering if i need a tune to accomodate for the porting done on the throttle body.

I wouldnt think so but then again im not the brightest when it comes to tuning issues...lol hammer

don't need one but you're not going to see any gains without.

Ok this st2 of your friends what is the outlet ported to?And is the inet of your SC still stock size ? You see what I'm getting at if he ported the outlet on the TB larger than your inlet it will not perform well besides it is recommended you tune for a st2 TB otherwise you would run lean .Chico(pops)

Dang Timmy, you didn't believe the info I told you. Pretty much what Chico just explained.

I'd be willing to bet your LTFTs will compensate for it just fine, but as others have said you'll be decreasing performance in the short run without matching your port sizes.

That's not what he's saying. Go back and read it again. The TB size will be bigger than the blower inlet.

ya, so i will be running lean..but zalfrin is also saying that the LTFT's should compensate for that though. They are also saying that I will not see any gains out of it, which right now i am not looking for the gains, as I am just looking to help a friend out lol.

Yeah the LTFTs will compensate for it, but the idea with tuning is to zero out the LTFTs so that it runs better overall and doesn't have to figure out how much and when to compensate.
I doubt you have any gains. Seems like more of a supporting mod for other things, and like Chico said, the porting needs to match up.
